Liberia Airport increased its capacity to serve 300 thousand more passengers

July 22, 2018 by Staff News Writer

As of this week, Daniel Oduber International Airport has an additional 4,118 square meters in its boarding rooms and 417 square meters in its main hall. There are also new facilities such as six counters for airlines, half a dozen stores, and a carousel in the baggage reception area.

The inauguration and reception of the expansion works of Coriport became official this Saturday with the visit of President Carlos Alvarado, as part of his tour in Guanacaste. In a formal ceremony, the president of the Republic, the Minister of Tourism, Maria Amalia Revelo, legislators of the area, and other authorities announced that this new expansion increased the airport’s capacity to serve up to 300 thousand more passengers per year.

The growth of this airport directly benefits the entire province of Guanacaste. As a concessionaire, we are committed to constant and proactive improvements that guarantee a unique experience in both arrival and departure,”

said César Jaramillo, general manager of Coriport.

We recognize tourism as an engine of the national economy and its multiplier effect to improve the quality of life of thousands of Costa Ricans,”

said Alvarado.

For the ICT, the project is important because of the high impact generated by the arrival of more tourists to the province of Guanacaste every year.

Since the beginning of this administration, more than four new international flight routes have been announced in this airport. The works represent an investment of more than $ 10.3 million by Coriport, in addition to the implementation of the diplomatic room, remodeling of the logistics center, and the solid waste area.
