The canton of Nicoya has been celebrating the 193º anniversary of the Annexation of the Nicoya Party to Costa Rica.

At this moment the Government Council is held from the center of this city, with the presence of the President of the Republic, Luis Guillermo Solís, as well as ministers and executive presidents of the autonomous institutions.

In addition, several legislators who represent Guanacaste in the Legislative Assembly are also present in the celebrations.

Earlier in the morning, the president presented a floral offering to the Monument of the Annexation in Nicoya’s High School and went to the Municipal Council in Nicoyano Park, where there was a cultural festival.

Typical dances, retailas, guipipías and folklor filled the Guanacastean city.

On Monday, there was a concert with the band Mal Pais that warmed the night atmosphere of the place.

This is the last year of the Solís Rivera administration celebrating the commemoration of the Nicoya Party Attachment to Costa Rica.
