Low pressure system will bring heavy rains to the country

October 3, 2017 by Staff News Writer

A low pressure system will bring heavy rains to the country, starting on Wednesday, and according to National Meteorological Institute (IMN) estimates, the conditions will be present until Friday.

Amounts varying from 60 to 120 mm are anticipated in periods of six hours in the Pacific slope, Central Valley and North Zone. The coastal region of the Caribbean would have isolated rainfall,”

said the entity in a press release.

The INM explained that the low pressure system is being developed in the southwest of the Caribbean Sea.

In addition to intensifying, it will begin to move along the Caribbean coast of Nicaragua, to the northwest of the Caribbean and then to the Gulf of Mexico.

Due to the heavy rains that affected the country last week, the soils are saturated in many areas, so extreme caution is recommended.

In case of a thunderstorm and strong bursts of wind take refuge in a safe place. Caution to drivers against adverse conditions on roads due to rain and haze,”

continued the statement.
