Man was caught dumping septic tank waste in river

March 20, 2019 by Staff News Writer

Jimmy Zamora, from the Municipal Traffic Police of the Municipality of Barva, in Heredia, denounced on Tuesday afternoon that a truck was dumping waste in broad daylight, in the vicinity of San Roque.

Zamora made the call to the traffic police of Heredia to make the complaint since it is not the jurisdiction of Barva because it is on the border.

Today the Municipal Traffic Police, while on tour, observed a truck that gives the service of” Septic Tank Cleaning, depositing the waste in a river, so it proceeded to stop it immediately, and apply the respective fines.

It is really unfortunate to see how there are unscrupulous and unconscious people who pollute the environment in a blatant way.

We call the people who hire these services, to verify that the company that provides it implements the proper waste treatment,”

was the statement posted on social media.

Alejandro Garita, vice mayor of Barva, said that now the Department of Environmental Management of the local government will investigate if the heavy vehicle complied with the discharge in the treatment plants, see that the plate number is correctly registered, but proceed to execute the complaint in the corresponding instances.
