Man was struck by a lightning in Alajuela

April 25, 2017 by Staff News Writer

A man of approximately 40 years old was transferred in delicate conditions to the San Rafael Hospital of Alajuela after being struck by lightning at 3:24 p.m. in La Guácima.

The man suffered burns and severe injuries and the Red Cross took him to the medical center.

According to the National Meteorological Institute (IMN), heavy rains with thunderstorms that hit much of the territory are due to the high evaporation that occurred on Monday morning.
