María becomes a hurricane and goes to the Caribbean

Maria turned into a hurricane on Sunday as it headed toward the east of the Caribbean, with winds of 120 k /h, the National Hurricane Center (NHC) reported in the United States.

Maria became a category 1 hurricane (on a scale of 5) and was located 225 km northeast of Barbados, the NHC reported.
