Mena criticized minister Fernando Llorca

February 15, 2017 by Staff News Writer

Pre-candidate from Partido Nueva Generación (PNG) Sergio Mena started a campaign agaisnt Minister of Health Fernando Llorca for his position regarding director of the Quepos Health Area and member of the PNG Alejandra Quesada in Manuel Antonio Park case.

For some months, the PNG official and activist had been carrying out an inspection work on the park’s wastewater management problems and, according to Mena, she started to suffer outrages that undermined her management and prevented her from carrying out an inspection, which could have caused the closure of the park facilities.

The pre-candidate indicated that Quesada was sent to a training facility in Esparza, which prevented her from being in the area at the time of the Park health inspection. In addition, he reiterated that the official has legally acted intead of following the political or business interests of a sector.

Mena said that Minister Llorca is not considering the technical or legal criteria of the local health level when ordering an extension of three more months.

The Health official was also a candidate to the mayoralty of Quepos. It is reported that the party will watch the evolution of this case to avoid that Quesada can be affected in terms of works.
