Minister Mata: let’s be reasonable, with such warnings, nobody wins

Taxi drivers will keep fighting until there is a resolution on Uber issue. Next Tuesday they are going to meet general regulator Roberto Jiménez. If they don’t come to an agreement, taxi drivers will be back to the streets.

Protesters have made threats and “war” warnings, a situation that Minister of Security Gustavo Mata rejected. He urged them to keep sanity when making decisions.

We must be reasonable. We must talk. With such warnings nobody wins. It is to alert the country and it is not fair. We need to work together,

declared the minister.

On Tuesday, Security Forces did not allow them to close the streets and arrested taxi drivers.

Mata suggested taxi drivers follow the right procedures instead of making demonstrations and other warnings, which would endanger the citizenry that has nothing to do with their situation.

Minister went further and made it clear that they, as authorities, cannot ask users, despite the threats, to stop using the service.
