The authorities seized another 166 packages of cocaine that apparently belong to a Mexican gang that sent drugs to the United States.
According to the Office of the Assistant Attorney General against Organized Crime (FACDO), 700 kilograms of cocaine have been seized from this group in recent months.
On Tuesday, an operation was conducted in a warehouse located in Los Angeles of Grecia, where 166 packages of cocaine were found, each weighing between 1.5 and 2.5 kilograms. The previous Saturday, six Mexicans and one Guatemalan were arrested and placed in preventive custody, as they were being investigated for the crime of international drug trafficking.
In addition they were confiscated vehicles with modified floors, specifically with a double lining that might have been used to hide and transport the drugs.
The foreigners are Angulo Álvarez, González Lemus, Mercado Rodríguez, Rodríguez Méndez, Pérez Payán, Rodríguez Hernández, and Franco (Guatemalan). They had more than $35 thousand in cash, weapons, and vehicles.

The Public Prosecutor’s Office said that the suspects were inserting metal plates into the wheels of the trucks, so that the illicit packages were covered by metal.
