In February, Tata Parking (San José) administration made the decision of encouraging amateur cyclists and those seeking new forms of urban transportation.

Nine months have passed since Tata Parking offered its bicycle parking, which has been gaining ground. In the last three months 230 bicycles have been parked there, which also means a contribution to environmental conservation.

Philip Lang is one of the administrators of the parking lot, located in an old house that belonged to his grandparents. Two years ago, the person who administered it decided to leave, so he and his brother chose to take over the business.

It is an ordinary parking lot but we have tried to come up with a different concept. We believe that is a very large parking space to just for cars. The idea of parking bicycles was born because I go to work every day by bicycle and when you make the decision of cycling, there are many questions: where I’m going to change? Where do I leave the bike? What if they hit me?”

said Lang.

The man also added that the service is free and that a month ago they included a shower and lockers to make people’s lives easier. These services do have a cost, but they are affordable.

The parking lot operates from Monday to Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 9-11 p.m., and from 7 in the morning to 4 in the afternoon on Saturdays.

Tata Parking is located in the Emergency entrance of the National Children’s Hospital, 125 meters west on Avenida 2, Calle 22 and Calle 24.
