More than a thousand kilos of coca confiscated in Quepos

This weekend, the authorities of the National Coastguard Service (SNGC) and the Drug Control Police (PCD), along with the support of the United States, located a boat with 1300 kilograms of cocaine.

The finding occurred 55 nautical miles off the coast of Quepos.

In addition, four Costa Ricans named Manzanares González, Hernández González, Hernández González and Araya Linares were arrested.

The first three have no criminal record, however, the last one has been arrested three times:
• 07-24-2013 Infraction of Weapons Law
• 09-11-2014 Assault
• 08-08-2012 Homicide Attempt

The owner of the ship LA PINTA also has a record for:
• 03-17-1996 Aggravated Resistance
• 04-24-2013 Infraction to The Law of Psychotropics

With this confiscation, the quantity of drugs seized -during this year- amounts to 26 tons 454 kilograms, a higher figure compared to 2016.
