More than a ton of drugs were found attached to a radio buoy

December 25, 2017 by Staff News Writer

The Public Force seized 1,123 kilos of cocaine. The discovery was made on Sunday night, 50 miles from Punta Burica.

According to Gustavo Mata, Minister of Public Security, information on this shipment of cocaine at sea was provided by a US plane, which allowed the Coast Guard to find it attached to a radio buoy.

With this, the authorities would have found 29 tons of cocaine this year, a historical figure in the region.
