Museums will also go on vacation

During Christmas and New Year’s Eve, the museums from the Ministry of Culture and Youth (MCJ), will temporarily close, to later resume their normal shifts. The government established a holiday season that goes from December 23rd to January 2nd.

The schedules are the following:

-The Costa Rican Art Museum: It will be open from 10 am to 4 pm until December 24th. It will reopen on January 3rd; from 10 am to 4 pm. Admission is free.

-The Artist’s School House: its Headquarters are in Guadalupe, Goicoechea, it will be open on December 23rd, from 8 am to 8 pm and on December 24th, from 8 am to 4 pm. It will reopen on January 2nd, during regular business hours. Admission is free.

The Museum of Contemporary Art and Design (MADC): it will be open until December 23rd at 1 pm and it will reopen on January 3rd on a regular schedule, from Tuesday to Saturday, from 9:30 am to 5 pm (free admission on Tuesdays). The admission ticket has a value of 1,000 colones and students pay 500 colones.

-Calderón Guardia Museum: It will be closed from December 24th and it will reopen on January 2nd, 2017, from Mondays to Saturdays, from 9 am to 5 pm. Admission is free.

-Juan Santamaría Cultural Historical Museum: it will close on December 24th and it will reopen on January 3rd, 2017, during regular business hours, from Tuesdays to Sundays, from 9 am to 5:30 pm. Free admission.

National Museum of Costa Rica: Closed to the public from December 24th to January 2nd. Administrative offices will be closed from December 26th to January 1st. Admission ticket: 2,000 colones; children under 12 years old, students and teachers with identification of the educational center and adults over 65 years old, with identity card, enter for free.
