March 17, 2017 by Staff News Writer

After 20 anonymous complaints, a group of four people was dismantled by the Drug Control Police (PCD) for their links to the drug distribution in Purral de Goicoechea.

Approximately five thousand doses of drugs such as marijuana, ketamine, cocaine and crack were found in eight raids carried out by the PCD in the sector Los Cuadros, aswell as almost one million colones in cash and firearms.

Authorities believe that the head of the organization is a 38-year-old man named Herrera, who has a history of homicide, drug trafficking, aggravated robbery and assault with a knife.

One of the most striking things that were confiscated was a ball of marihuana, similar to a football, which weighed almost 5 kg and came from Jamaica.

The group operated near the local school and was composed of subjects named León, Loaiza, Sánchez and Herrera.
