National authorities will control the sale of some drugs

National authorities aim to increase control over some drugs that are sold on the market for medical purposes and it plans to do so with a digital platform: t

These drugs are better known as “psychotropic and narcotic drugs.” They are delivered in the country through green and blue prescriptions and national legislation requires that the Drug Monitoring Board controls them, as these drugs could become a serious threat to public health.

These drugs can cause physical or mental dependence. As a result, it is expected to have a stricter control of them.

The Digital platform will start operating from May 9th and it is mandatory for all private doctors, dentists and private clinics.

Citizens must follow these steps:

-All private physicians must register on the digital platform before May 9th.
-Pharmacies must also have the system to sell the products.
-Users: Each time people go to the doctor and they receive these drugs, they will receive a code through e-mail, text message or on a printed paper. They must present it in drug stores in order to purchase the products.
