National Parks closed for damage after Storm Nate

The Ministry of Environment and Energy together with the National System of Conservation Areas will keep some national parks closed because of the cleaning works needed before reopening.

The heavy rainstorms of tropical storm Nate caused some damage in these sites which are taken care of by forest rangers to rehabilitate them as soon as possible.

The Government indicated that the reopening will be informed in due time.

The parks that continue with the temporary closure are:

Guanacaste Conservation Area:
Guanacaste National Park
Rincón de la Vieja National Park
Santa Rosa National Park

North Huetar Conservation Area:
Arenal Volcano National Park
Caño Negro Wildlife Refuge
La Camelias Wildlife Refuge
Juan Castro Blanco National Water Park
Maquenque Mixed Wildlife Refuge

Central Pacific Conservation Area:
Manuel Antonio National Park

Amistad Pacífico Conservation Area:
Chirripó National Park
La Amistad National Park

Cordillera Central Conservation Area:
Prussian Sector of Irazú Volcano National Park
Villamils Sector of Tapantí National Park

Osa Conservation Area:
Corcovado National Park
Caño Island Biological Reserve
Piedras Blancas National Park
Golfito Wildlife Refuge
Ballena Marine National Park

Arenal Tempisque Conservation Area:
Palo Verde National Park
Volcano Tenorio National Park

Tempisque Conservation Area:
Cabo Blanco Absolute Natural Reserve
Barra Honda National Park
