NAVE: “poor road infrastructure and vehicular restriction are big problems”

March 30, 2017 by Staff News Writer

Edgardo González, president of the National Chamber of Ship Operators and Vapor Agents (NAVE) declared that collapsed roads due to poor road infrastructure and vehicular restriction for the entry of heavy equipment are just two of the problems faced by those who transport goods in the metropolitan area.

According to González, Costa Rica needs alternative sources of circulation: freight railways, multimodal means:

We need new routes or different accesses that allow heavy vehicles to enter the central area,

Gonzalez declared.

The President of NAVE was emphatic in affirming that they must continue working on the ports.

The Chamber considers that further development is lacking, both in infrastructure and in facilitating international trade of goods.
