Neighbors of Río Naranjo organize to recover park

June 19, 2017 by Staff News Writer

The neighbors of Río Naranjo de Bagaces, in Guanacaste, are organizing to recover the park of the town, as they report it has been abandoned for the last six years.

Marco Prado, president of the local Sports Committee, explained that the court is registered in the name of the association of community development, but that they cannot use it because there are works that were not concluded, infrastructure in bad condition and neglect of the green areas.

That was always a public square, for children to play, for cultural events, but we haven’t been albe to use it in the last six years,”

explained Prado, who also said that next Friday a group of residents of the area will intervene the space to clean it.

The property is located in front of the school of the town.

Río Naranjo Sports Committee was recently elected by the Municipality and is independent of the development association.

According to the 2011 National Census, the district of Naranjo River in Bagaces has a little more than 1,000 inhabitants.
