Neutering campaign to benefit animal victims of Hurricane Otto

The National Association for the Protection of Animals (ANPA) and community leaders from Upala and Guatuso organized a neutering campaign for the animals in the communities of Canalete, Upala, Katira and Guatuso.

The National Animal Health Service (SENASA) was worried by the overpopulation of dogs and cats that inhabit these communities after Otto’s emergency.

According to Gisela Vico, president of ANPA,

we started conversations with SENASA and accepted the challenge of neutering at a low cost , knowing that Costa Rica will once again show solidarity with animals in need.”

Both institutions will hold neutering days, from February 2nd to February 5th. The surgeries will be conducted by a team of 5 specialized doctors.

For the execution of this campaign, ANPA asks solidarity from everyone who is able to help these animals and their families. The association calls for people to sponsor a spraying procedure for an amount of 11 thousand colones.
