New closures in San José for municipal works

January 17, 2018 by Staff News Writer

Pay attention if you must transit through downtown San José these days, as the Municipality announced new closures.

From January 16th to 26th, there will be a 24-hour closure on Avenue 3, between streets 20 and 26, due to the change of pipes. The MSJ informed that the Pluvial Network Section will install larger diameter pipes, in order to solve the problem of flooding in both Paseo Colón and the National Children’s Hospital.

During 2017, the medical center was affected by floods at least twice.

In the beginning, the municipality blamed the internal pluvial system of the hospital, but after talks it was possible to reach an agreement to implement a plan that eliminates the problem.
