Nicaragua and El Salvador suspended Tsunami Alert

Nicaragua and El Salvador ended the Tsunami alert on the Pacific coast, which was decreed after the 7-degree Ritcher quake off the coast of El Salvador.

There were no destructive waves or any special situation. The evacuation of people living in coastal communities was suspended,

declared Guillermo González, director of the National System for Disaster Prevention (SINAPRED).

El Salvador´s Director of Protection Jorge Meléndez explained that there was no material or personal damage as a result of the tremor.

According to The United States Geological Survey, the strong earthquake occurred at 12:43 pm off the coast of the Usulutan department, with an intensity of 7 degrees Richter and a depth of 10.3 km,
