Offer to encourage use of “park and ride” modality

January 24, 2017 by Staff News Writer

Pedregal Event Center launched an offer to encourage drivers to use the transhipment service in their facilities. A month of parking (Monday to Saturday) will cost ₡ 50 thousand colones if they buy it this week, then it will increase to ₡ 65 thousand, or ₡ 3 thousand per day.

Until 7 a.m., 20 drivers had used the “park and ride” modality in Pedregal, as confirmed by Felipe Zamora, Development Manager of the Pedregal Events Center.

p style=”text-align: justify;”>The drivers leave their vehicles all day in the facilities of the Events Center in Belén and take the train right there.

Our main motivation is to give an alternative to users who do not want to spend several hours stuck in traffic. Today people were testing how much traffic they were going to have to endure in alternate routes, so we did not receive as many vehicles as we were expecting. I think that after today, people are going to realize that they have to avoid driving in private vehicles,”

said Zamora.

The Pedregal Events Center will also implement the bicycle parking service, at a cost of ₡ 500 per day. The condition is that the user carries their own padlock for the bicycle.
