Officer’s son suspected of assaulting members of Public Force

June 27, 2017 by Staff News Writer

One of the seven people accused of assaulting two officers of Public Force in Santa Clara de San Carlos is the son of an officer of that police force.

Nineteen-year-old Castro was among those arrested after the aggression. The subject is the son of a policeman from the North Zone and has a criminal record for drug possession.

The information was confirmed by the Ministry of Public Security (MSP).

Castro is among the five detainees who will serve 15 days in pretrial detention, while being tried for aggravated resistance and aggravated robbery.

During the event, one of the subjects snatched the gun from one of the policemen. However, it was later recovered.

The aggression, recorded in videos, originated at the end of a soccer match for an amateur championship on the Santa Clara soccer field.
