OIJ arrests 13 people linked to drugs and homicide

The Judicial Investigation Organization (OIJ) is currently conducting several raids in San Carlos and several areas of the country, in order to dismantle a gang linked to drug trafficking and a homicide. In total, there are 13 people arrested so far.

Walter Espinoza, director of the Judicial Investigation Agency (OIJ), said they are seeking for 26 subjects, who are part of the organization, which is led by a man named Varela Vargas.

According to Espinoza, this organization trafficked cocaine, marijuana and crack and got from Ciudad Quesada to in Limón.

The agents also hope to seize drugs, money and evidence.

The raids are being carried out in Ciudad Quesada, San Martin, La Isla, Cedral, La Cruz, Limón, Guatuso and Sarapiquí.
