OIJ arrests three for attacks on bank customers

December 20, 2013 by Staff News Writer

Judicial agents arrested three people in three raids in Desamparados and Barrio Mexico, as suspected members of a band that has robbed nine bank customers for 20 million colones ($40,567). In each case two of the men would case the inside of the bank and phone the other in order to identify the victim.

In Costa Rica and Latin America the holidays bring an increase in crime, and customers have to be careful not to display too much cash when changing money at the bank.
