OIJ confirms a minor died in riots

The Judicial Investigation Agency (OIJ) confirmed the death of a minor who was in the middle of the riots in Limón on Wednesday night. The institution indicated that the victim was 17 years old and died after receiving at least one bullet to the head. In addition, they investigates the injuries suffered by another minor, who received bullet impacts in one of his legs.

The boys were in a group that was apparently causing disturbances in the area, when several shots were heard and then it was determined that they had been impacted, so they were immediately transferred to the local hospital, where one of them died shortly afterwards and the other one is receiving attention,”

informed the OIJ.

The incident was reported shortly after midnight on public roads, in the area known as Santa Eduviges.
