Organic food producers have a meeting on October 2nd

September 29, 2016 by Staff News Writer

On October 2nd, organic food producers have a meeting in Montes de Oca: the second National Urban Gardeners Meeting will start at 8:30 am and all Costa Ricans are invited.

During the activity, which is completely free, attendees can know new people and share their experiences related to home vegetable gardeners.

In addition, they will be able to create a map, so organic food producers can find other producers near them and exchange seeds, advice, among others.

Santiago Miranda, co-organizer of the event, declared that this group has more than 4,000 members so far and they get in touch through social networks.

There has been a great concern and responsibility regarding agrochemicals and genetically modified food and this raises concern because they realize that we are consuming poison. Moreover, people do not have an organic food producer near them,

explained Miranda.
