Óscar Arias strongly criticized new American President

November 9, 2016 by Staff News Writer

Former president and Nobel Peace Prize winner Oscar Arias strongly criticized new President of the United States Donald Trump.

In a message on his Facebook profile, Arias described the entrepreneur as “populist” and as the candidate who is the opposite to a serious and responsible politician, a person who tells people what they should know and not what they want to hear. According to Arias, he is the opposite to a person who believes that the ultimate goal of politics is to educate people.

The former president added that the American electorate chose the most ignorant, uneducated and liar of all presidential candidates in recent times.

Arias Sánchez added that there hasn’t been such an impulsive, temperamental, racist, xenophobic, misogynist aspirant to the White House, a person who is able to use the political power to harm others.

According to Arias, Trump is a threat to democracy and he compares it with the power that keeps Russian president Vladimir Putín, Nicolás Maduro from Venezuela, and Daniel Ortega from Nicaragua.

In addition, Arias strongly criticized the American population because due to “sexism”, they did not choose Hillary Clinton, who qualified as a prepared candidate.

He concluded by saying that if Donald Trump had been a presidential candidate in France, Germany, United Kingdom, Denmark, Sweden and Costa Rica, he would have hopefully obtained ten percent of the vote.
