Otto Guevara files criminal complaint against Attorney General Emilia Navas

February 28, 2018 by Staff News Writer

Otto Guevara, from the Libertarian Movement, filed a criminal complaint against the general prosecutor a.i., Emilia Navas , and against the director of the Organism of Judicial Investigation (OIJ), Wálter Espinoza on Monday afternoon.

Guevara said he filed the complaint last week because they violated his immunity as a legislator and abused their authority when they raided his office and his home, as well as stopping him in the street, in Escazú, on November 29th 2017.

He also alleged that to carry out raids, authorization was required from Room III of the Supreme Court of Justice. The Attorney General of the Republic ordered the actions at that time to gather information in the framework of the investigation in the cementazo case.

The libertarian is investigated for his alleged links and efforts in favor of the Chinese cement importer, Juan Carlos Bolaños.
