Outbreaks of violence in the Legislative Assembly on Wednesday afternoon

September 12, 2018 by Staff News Writer

On Wednesday afternoon, after the protesters arrived at the Legislative Assembly to ask for the withdrawal of the Bill of Strengthening of Public Finance, a group of people caused outbreaks of violence.

Those responsible for the events, whom union leaders identify as “anarchists”, broke the security barrier located on the south side of the National Park, between the Blue Castle and the National Museum on Avenida 1.

A large number of officers of the Public Force arrived at the site to contain the demonstrators who threw gases, stones, bottles, and sticks against the officers and the press. One of the officers of the Public Force had to be removed from the scene after being wounded in the eye and the order was given to close the Legislative Assembly.
