PAC and FA rejected a motion to condemn Venezuelan Government

February 17, 2017 by Staff News Writer

Representatives of various political parties lambasted the Citizen Action Party (PAC) and Frente Amplio (FA) for rejecting a motion condemning the Government of Venezuela for taking the news network CNN in Spanish out of air.

Rolando González, from the National Liberation Party (PLN) passed a proposal in the legislature with 23 votes in favor to censor the regime of Nicolas Maduro for that decision.

The initiative was not endorsed by 19 legislators, most from PAC and everyone from Frente Amplio.

Legislator Marcela Guerrero, one of the three PAC members who voted in favor of the proposal, said that freedom of expression has been fundamental in democracies.

González said that Frente Amplio is showing its true colours once again.
