“Patch” Adams will come to Costa Rica on August 30th

Many people think of actor Robin Williams, others think of healing through laughter and humor.

It is true that doctor Hunter “Patch” Adams is famous worldwide for a movie about his life and his peculiar way of healing. It is also a fact that he will be at the University of Costa Rica (UCR) on August 30th.

Adams is a social activist and he believes in laughter therapy. The doctor has always said that he is also an activist for peace, justice and people’s care.

The prominent doctor arrives in the country as part of an activity called “Clowning and Caring Costa Rica”.

On August 30th, he will also give an open lecture in the Auditorium of the Department of Law of the University of Costa Rica (UCR).

The workshop will approach health development through the arts, agriculture, contact with nature, recreation and social services,

informed the university.

The work of doctor Adams is well known due to a movie about his life, which was performed by the late Robin Williams in 1998.
