Poás Volcano has shown constant eruptive activity

March 11, 2019 by Staff News Writer

Poás Volcano maintains a constant eruption of gases and ash since March 7th, according to the report by the Volcanological and Seismological Observatory of Costa Rica (OVSICORI).

However, up to now, there have been no reported damages due to this eruptive activity, as the columns are weak and do not reach 200 meters above the crater.

The daily report of the institution informs that from March 8th and until this Saturday the tremor remains discontinuous and with low amplitude. The Observatory indicated that the eruptions are likely to remain weak.

On the contrary, Irazú, Rincón de la Vieja and Turrialba volcanoes have not shown eruptive activity in the last few hours.
