Police officers are involved in 8 cases of sexual abuse of minors

December 9, 2016 by Staff News Writer

The Ministry of Public Security (MSP) admitted that among the causes for the dismissal of about 115 policemen, there are eight allegations of sexual abuse to the detriment of minors.

There are also 5 reports of rape, 7 for sexual abuse against adults and 8 reports for possible involvement in homicides.

Gustavo Mata, Minister of Public Security, was blunt: he will not allow weak officials to wear uniforms from the Public Force.

According to the minister, the problem of organized crime that plagues the country is also more visible in the police forces.

It’s not just cops. The truth is that the influence of organized crime is going to be seen throughout the structure of the Government, as we have seen it in countries like Guatemala or Honduras, “

stated the Minister.
