Police shot US suspect in domestic violence case

September 17, 2018 by Staff News Writer

An American surnamed Caspino remains hospitalized in the Calderón Guardia Hospital (HCG) after being shot and wounded in one of his thighs by a Public Force officer.

It all came about when an alert was sent to the 9-1-1 system about an apparent case of domestic violence in a house located in the Quesada Durán neighborhood in Zapote, San José.

When the officers went to the site, Caspino -who apparently assaulted a woman- turned to violence against one officer, so another officer pulled out his regulation weapon and fired at the ground. However, the foreigner was injured because one of those shots hit his thigh.

Apparently, the American has been living in the country for a few years and has a criminal record in the US.
