Police took control of RECOPE

September 9, 2018 by Staff News Writer

The Public Force took control the ports and distribution facilities in Limón. The operation is carried out in the ports of JAPDEVA (Junta de Administración Portuaria y de Desarrollo Económico de la Vertiente del Caribe). The officials also took RECOPE’s facilities in different areas of the country.

The information was confirmed by police sources and by President Carlos Alvarado via Twitter.

This is a measure by the authorities to face the general strike convened for Monday by the unions against the fiscal plan.

On Sunday, the President announced the strike is unjustified and improper, so he will seek the Court to declare it illegal.

The fiscal reform is the only option we have to save this country,”

said the President during the nationwide radio and television transmission.
