Policletos from the PubliC Force of San José participated in an activity called “Cleteada por Europa” (bike race for Europe), during the celebrations of the “Month of Europe”.

The activity included a circuit between Roosevelt Square in San Pedro de Montes de Oca and the National Park in downtown San José, and it had a distance of eight kilometers. The event also involved families and citizens in general.

In addition to the European Union, the Public Force and the Municipality of Montes de Oca took part in various organizations of civil society, including groups promoting recreational cycling.

The ambassador of the European Union in Costa Rica, Pelayo Castro, highlighted the presence of the police of the Public Force in this activity.

It should be noted that the European Union and the Ministry of Public Security have been developing joint initiatives to improve citizen security policies in Costa Rica.

Such is the case of the Citizen Security Program (PROSEC), which is financed by the European Union and executed by the aforementioned ministry. Among its achievements, we can mention the strengthening of the relations of the Public Force with diverse sectors of the Costa Rican society.
