President Solís answered former president Arias back

March 10, 2017 by Staff News Writer

Luis Guillermo Solís, President of the Republic, replied to former President and Nobel Peace Prize winner Oscar Arias’ criticism.

During the inauguration of San José-Heredia new bridge, Solís said that Arias had not been very informed of what is happening in the country and that he was wrong when saying that this administration remained in “good intentions”.

I would ask him to come and walk around here, on this bridge …He should take a look at the areas affected by Hurricane Otto, that are already experiencing the benefits of the National Reconstruction Plan,

Solís declared.

The president also requested Arias to ask if other countries have a negative image on Costa Rica and if this affects tourism.

Arias took advantage of a national broadcast to show his support to presidential potential candidate Antonio Álvarez Desanti and to criticize Solís’ management.

The current government had good intentions, but few concrete proposals and it lacked experience in the management of the State,

stated the former president.
