President Solís issued a guideline to review wage bonuses

February 24, 2017 by Staff News Writer

Due to the controversy related to the overpayment granted to Deputy Minister of the Presidency Ana Gabriel Zuñiga, President Luis Guillermo Solís issued a guideline to review wage bonuses throughout the public administration.

The decision was signed by the president. As a result, every hierarch of ministries and autonomous and semi – autonomous institutions must order a comprehensive review on wage bonuses related to each of the officials to determine if they are making improper payments to employees who do not meet the requirements established by law.

During the current administration, there are 3 cases of improper payments: they occurred when officials received money that did not correspond to them. The officials were deputy ministers Carmen Muñoz, Ana Cristina Trejos and Ana Gabriel Zúñiga.
