President Solís: “The fiscal plan cannot be delayed any longer”

September 16, 2016 by Staff News Writer

During the official ceremony for the 195th anniversary of the Independence, President Luis Guillermo Solís spoke in favor of the fiscal plan.

The president expressed that it is an issue that cannot be delayed anymore because the country’s continuous growth and development could be compromised, and he explained that the revenues are close to 14% of the production, while the expenditures are 21%.

Solís highlighted the effort that has been done to lower the superfluous government spending, but he believes that it should come along with an increase in revenues through higher taxes.

However, it seems that the tax reform will be discussed in 2017 according to legislator Rolando González.

We can talk about it, but it won’t be until 2017 when we thoroughly analyze and discuss the proposal,

declared González.
