President Solís urges residents of Turrialba to be cautious

December 5, 2016 by Staff News Writer

The President of the Republic asked residents of Turrialba for caution. Solís is also is studying the possibility to give shelter to the families living near the Cariblanco and Turrialba rivers after the announcement by the National Meteorological Institute that on Thursday, December 8th, a cold front will arrive to Costa Rica, bringing more rains.

President Solís paid a visit to inspect the surrounding areas of Turrialba Volcano with other officials to verify the conditions of the site after the earthquake of 5.3 degrees that occurred last Wednesday and that had its epicenter in the canton of Alvarado, in Cartago.

From December 5th, municipal officials, along with the MOPT will clean the obstructed roads. To assist the people affected by the earthquake, the water supply will be made through tanker trucks.
