President Solís visited victims of fire in León XIII

November 28, 2016 by Staff News Writer

Amid the work of analysis and evaluation of emergency in Upala and Bagaces, President Luis Guillermo Solís went to visit the victims of the fire in León XIII.

Solís and the First Lady, Mercedes Peñas, went together to give them a message of support due to the tragedy that claimed the lives of four people.

It was a very emotional moment for Mercedes and me. I gave them the condolences of the Government and the people of Costa Rica,”

said the President, who preferred to visit the shelter in Tibás in silence, out of respect for those affected.

The incident, in addition to four deaths, left 80 families without a home affecting more than 230 people, 94 of which are minors.
