President takes food to indigenous areas

December 7, 2016 by Staff News Writer

As part of the tour on the areas affected by Hurricane Otto, president Solís visited the indigenous area of Alto Carona, in the South Zone of the country.

The President brought food, water and toiletries to the inhabitants of this region, as a first aid measure. They met with community leaders to clarify the needs for reconstruction of the territories.

Along with the First Lady, Mercedes Peñas, and staff of the Ombudsman’s Office, the President listened to the requirements of the residents.

In addition, Solís conducted an overflight by Punta Burica to have a clear picture of the consequences of the hurricane in the place.

On Monday, Solís was in Upala, La Cruz and Bagaces, and on Wednesday he will visit Las Barras in the North Caribbean.
