President will go to Geneva this Sunday

December 10, 2019 by Staff News Writer

President Carlos Alvarado will travel this Sunday to Geneva, Switzerland, to participate in the World Forum on Refugees.

The Minister of Communication, Nancy Marín, said the President will address the situation of Nicaraguan refugees in Costa Rica due to the socio-political crisis that has affected that nation since April 2018.

Also, the event will serve to request international cooperation.

This is the third international trip Alvarado makes in less than a month. Between late November and early December he was in Uruguay, on an official visit and went to Madrid, Spain to participate in the United Nations Conference on Climate Change (COP25).
