President would be incapacitated up to one month

October 17, 2017 by Staff News Writer

On Wednesday morning, President Luis Guillermo Solís will enter the operating room to undergo surgery on his prostate.

Although in principle it had been said that he could be two weeks out of office, the recovery could be extended for up to a month.

Therefore, the decree appointed Helio Fallas as agent in office is for 30 days. And Solís’ return to the office will depend on the evolution of his recovery.

The president will be admitted in La Católica Hospital in Guadalupe. He will be intervened by Dr. Mario González.

In September, Luis Guillermo Solis announced that he had an enlarged prostate and although he did not have carcinogenic agents, he preferred operating it, because the discomfort would not let him rest, or sleep peacefully, since he gets up to urinate too many times at night.
