Gunter Humberto Otero Madrigal escaped from the Institutional Care Center 26 de Julio located in Puntarenas early this Sunday morning. The information was confirmed by Pablo Bertozzi, director of the Penitentiary Police.

According to the Press Department of the Ministry of Justice, Otero was in prison for qualified homicide, at the order of Garabito’s criminal court. He entered the system in 2018.
Preliminary information reveals that Otero Madrigal would have cut the bars of the window and metal mesh between areas C and A3 of the prison in Puntarenas .
