Problems at the Bar Association continue

August 25, 2016 by Staff News Writer

Problems at the Bar Association continue.

Froylán Alvarado, elected president of the Association, declared that he will not allow the provisional board, created on August 18th, to take control of it, as they stated in a press conference.

The conflict started in a special meeting where the creation of a pension fund was supposed to be addressed. However, after a brawl, the elected board left the place and a provisional board was appointed.

We remain quiet in our office. I am surprised that they (the ad hoc commission) insist that we were dismissed. Their performance was null, improper and illegal,

stated Alvarado.

The provisional board is led by José Manuel Venegas. Due to the alleged interest in taking office since Wednesday, Alvarado said they will not allow it and they are willing to use private security to avoid any misunderstanding.

They tried to do it on Friday and on Monday. We have already thought of that. They, as union members can enter public institutions, but they can’t be in session or take a leading role,

said the president.
