PROCOMER allows multinationals to have Essentials Costa Rica national brand

August 24, 2016 by Staff News Writer

“Essentials Costa Rica” national brand was created for the exclusive benefit of Costa Rican businesses in order to make national products and services more prominent in the domestic and international market. However, in recent days, the brand has been granted to multinational companies such as Copa Airlines, Calox, Claro and Intel Costa Rica.

The companies must meet five values in order to get the brand: excellence, social progress, sustainability, innovation and Costa Rican origin. the latter was studied  and multinationals were allowed to be part of the group due to their ties with Costa Rica, as explained by Gloriana Castro, director of Marca País from the Foreign Trade Promoter (PROCOMER).

They don´t have to be 100% Costa Rican, but to create a source of employment along with the services provided”

stated Castro.

Copa Airlines received this recognition after 50 years of operations in Costa Rica along with other companies such as Dr. Chacón (Kietud de la Montaña), Toribio Design, Global Med, RAW Outdoor Fitness and José Esquivel Arias.
