The National Emergency Commission (CNE) declared a green alert for the Caribbean and North Zone regions of the country due to an increase in rainfall and winds. In a statement, they indicated that an increase in atmospheric pressure on the Caribbean Sea leads to accelerated isolated winds in the country as well as greater humidity and instability in these regions.
According to the National Meteorological Institute (IMN) the passage of a tropical wave combined with a cold front will generate rains during the day and in much of the national territory. Rainy conditions will be concentrated in the Caribbean and the Northern Zone, but will generate cloudy and cool conditions in the Central Valley and the Guanacaste mountain ranges.
