Adrian Quesada is a 28 -year-old, young electrical engineer who lives in San Ramón de Alajuela.

From his home and using a 3D printer that he brought from abroad, he designs bionic prostheses for people who have suffered an amputation or that were born without their upper limbs due a congenital disease.

“Proyecto Oportunidad” started in April 2015. After several months of work, Quesada decided to postulate it to Universidad Latina’s “Yo creo” contest, which financially supports ideas that contribute with social development.

According to Quesada, they are always looking for “godparents” as sponsors for people who need prosthesis and explained that a commercial one could cost from 15,000 dollars to 20,000 dollars, while the prototypes designed by him, do not exceed 2,500 dollars.

If you want to become a godparent, you can join the project by visiting “Proyecto Oportunidad” Facebook page. You just need to click here.
